Rain

- Do you like rain?

I was surprised as soon as I heard this question from my examiner. I was asked to answer this question during my IELTS speaking test. This question seemed easy and tricky at the same time. I did not expect this kind of question would be asked during such test. However, I did not give much thought about what to answer because I have always loved rain. I just gave him what has been in my mind about rain.

Rain are drops of water that fall in small form from clouds in the sky, and of course, I like it. I like being under the rain, soaking wet. It refreshes my body as well as my mind. This might be strange to express this kind of feeling to other people. However, I just feel like it.

(I did not give him this version of my personal attachment towards the rain. I had to keep it for myself.) I like rain not only because it refreshes my body and soul, but also when I cry no one would see me crying. My tears and rain water would perfectly mix with one another. Hence, no passerby could judge if I am crying. Man can't cry, but I have to find way to cry my heart out, and crying under the rain is the only best way I could find. However, when there is no rain, particularly in dry season, the other way I could find is to cry in my dream.
